As you are all aware the HLTC committee is run by volunteers and at times personal circumstances make volunteering difficult to fit into our busy lives. Recently the committee has sadly received three resignations from committee members. In line with the constitution, their positions will be officially filled at the Annual General Meeting (date to be announced shortly, hopefully held in the club house not by Zoom!). At this month’s committee meeting held on Wednesday 21st April 2021 it was agreed unanimously that these key changes needed to be notified to club members.
Resignations have been received from:
- Sarah Cottam – Bar Manager
- Karen Hope – Social Secretary and 100 Club Administrator
- Liz Mason-Home – Vice-Captain
The committee would like to thank Sarah, Karen and Liz for all their free time they have given to the club and wish them well. To cover the immediate gaps and to ensure this great club keeps moving forward the committee has agreed the following interim arrangements:
Bar Manager: Frank Birchall will step in to cover this role until the AGM. Sarah has kindly agreed to offer her support to Frank to get the bar up and running, importantly in line with Government Covid-19 rules!
Social Secretary and 100 Club Administrator. The social secretary role will remain vacant and hopefully the position will be filled by a willing club member at the AGM. Steph Singleton has kindly agreed to be the 100 Club Administrator, again until the AGM.
Vice-Captain. Captain Callum Leach will be supported by Craig Longman (Head coach) and Clair Miller (Friendly Fixtures and Junior Co-ordinator) to keep the teams on track at the beginning of this season. Another willing club member will hopefully take on the role of Vice-Captain at the AGM.
We are sure club members will support the committee in making these interim arrangements to keep our great tennis club up and running, to maintain the fun that is HLTC and of course keep us competing for those trophies!
