The club was abuzz with excitement on Wednesday, May 14th as our American Tournament filled all eight courts with enthusiastic competitors. Thirty-two members showcased their skills across six intense 15-minute rounds, each vying for the top spot.
Congratulations to Frank Birchall who claimed the men’s title with the highest game count! The ladies’ competition saw a three-way tie between Sue Miller, Helen Smith, and Claudia Pagoulatou. After careful consideration, our club captain awarded the ladies’ top prize to Sue for her exceptional consistency throughout the tournament.
Following the competitive action, players were joined by family and friends for a tasty post-tournament celebration. Everyone enjoyed fish and chips from Marigolds, washed down with some refreshing bevvies from the bar.
