HLTC – Safeguarding Policy
HLTC aims to provide a safe, enjoyable and inclusive environment for all of our members. We are committed to comply with the best practice and procedures set by the Lawn Tennis Association.
HLTC aims to ensure that regardless of age, gender, religion, disability, sexuality or ethnicity all members have a positive and enjoyable experience.

Role: To ensure that all children, young people and adults at risk are safe at the club. If anyone has concerns for any reason you can contact the Welfare Officer on the contact details above.
Safeguarding: In order to safeguard the members of the club we work in accordance with the Equality and Diversity Policy. The club promotes an inclusive and positive ethos and has a clear complaints procedure.
The Welfare Officers will ensure that all coaches and adults working with children and young people follow the club’s Code of Conduct. They have attended the LTA training and will follow the LTA guidance, policies and procedures. The Welfare Officer will consult with the LTA Safeguarding Team for advice and support as necessary.
If a child, young person or adult at risk is in need of protection, a Welfare Officer will take immediate action by alerting the LTA Safeguarding Team and may contact Social Services, Police or other agencies. The Welfare Officer will treat matters with confidentially as appropriate.
