On 13th October we received the following message from Matt Webb, Chairman Wirral Tennis League
‘In light of the latest government guidance and with Merseyside being put into tier 3 Covid alert level, very high risk, the WTL has tonight held a virtual meeting and have regretfully agreed to suspend the league and therefore stop all league fixtures with immediate effect.
The Committee hope this is a temporary measure and will continue to follow the guidance from the LTA and the government with a view to recommencing the 20/21 Winter league as soon as it’s deemed appropriate to do so, but the safety of our players and their families remains paramount in these very difficult times.’
Like Matt, we hope this suspension is temporary and look forward to re-starting competitive matches soon.
