LTA Minimum Standards for Registration


From 1st October 2018, the LTA began to implement a system of achieving five Minimum Standards for clubs as a prerequisite to LTA registration. This replaces the previous Tennismark scheme.

The aim of the standards is to help to ensure that all LTA registered venues have health and safety, safeguarding and diversity and inclusion embedded into their practices and provide a safe and inclusive environment for children and adults.

The five minimum standards are:

1. Safeguarding policy and procedures

2. Diversity and Inclusion policy and procedures

3. Welfare officer

4. Criminal record checks

5. Risk assessment

The benefits of LTA registration are:

1. Venue insurance

2. Access to the British Tennis Members Wimbledon Ballot

3. Access to Clubspark, which is an online management system.

HLTC had all the requirements in place in November and is registered with the LTA for 2018-19. Registration costs us £110 per court, so in our case £880 for the year.

The LTA now conduct audits of clubs on a three yearly cycle. HLTC has been chosen to be audited in the first tranche and this will take place on Sunday April 7th. The committee must complete a self-assessment form and send out an LTA survey to all members.

All the Clubs policies are on the website in the members’ area, along with the rules and AGM Minutes, as well as on the noticeboard in the Clubhouse.
